I made it! I have officially been in Georgia for more than a week ruffing it out in training camp. It has been a lot, like a lot. Our day to day schedule starts at 8:15am with our personal devo and ends usually at 10pm with our squad small group discussion. Right now life consists of sleeping in a tent, bucket showers, laundry once a week, 2 hour sessions, worship, laughs with new friends, and lots of water. It is very intimidating because there is a lot of different perspectives on beliefs and religion and how to worship and how to hear God, but I am loving it. I am so intrigued by people’s stories and their truths and beliefs, getting to be in a group of people that consists of tons of different beliefs is eye opening. I’ve only been here for a week and I have already seen God in new ways with open eyes. I have learned to keep an open mind and ask questions about controversial topics in order to gain a deeper knowledge of who God is in my life and what it looks like to truly follow him. I am so beyond excited to keep going and to push into him within the next 9 months.

Now let me give you an update on the logistical stuff. I will be in intense training camp for the next 2 weeks ish, then we will one hands on week of training, then we go to Florida and serve with the hurricane relief, then we will come back to Georgia and get ready to fly out to Cambodia on October 14th. It’s a lot and it’s going to be crazy, but I am all for it. I have already gone through a whirlwind of emotions just in the first week, so who knows where I will be in the next 5 while I’m still here.

Prayer Requests:

  •  Pray for my physical health and that I will build a strong immune system while I’m out on the field
  • Pray for my heart as I open it fully to what God has in store for me
  • Pray for my squad and that we will form long lasting relationships
  • Pray that my homesickness will be limited

Praise God for…

  • The willingness to keep going and push through the hard times and feelings
  • The leaders putting on our training camp and preparing to go on the field with us
  • Meeting new friends that will soon feel like family
  • The small things like sweet friends that bring me coffee while doing my laundry
  • Giving me peace of mind and relaxation

I will also be sharing more of my pictures from this last week on my photography account on instagram @strange_pics12

Love you guys!
