This past week all the girls from both squads piled into 6 vans and took a 12 hour road trip to Fort Myers, Florida. It was crazy and packed with so many things to do, but it was such a blessing to see God’s abundant work.

Initially I was terrified of going, solely because I had spent 10 days prior to the trip in isolation because of my sicknesses. The ride there and the first day was rough, I had to take lots of breaks and my inhaler came in clutch. My chest was very heavy and breathing was rough, but I powered through. The rest of the days were so much fun and packed with lots of singing on the job and painting up a storm. We spent the week painting, installing cabinets, cutting and placing countertops, cutting and painting baseboards, and praying over the house. The house we were working on was hit so hard by the hurricane last year, that this time last year his house was nothing but termite infested posts in the ground. It was such an honor to bless the house owner Lester and his wife, by working and rebuilding his house. When we walked in on Monday  there was no paint on the walls, no baseboards, the kitchen was in boxes, there was stuff everywhere, the floors weren’t done, there was no electrical done, and no plumbing. By the end of the week all that needed to be done before move in was plumbing and the rest of the electrical. The week was hard, but so beneficial and I’m so grateful to have been apart of such a blessing. We didn’t end up meeting Lester, because he was out of town, but we did get to meet and work with someone who originally worked on his house when the hurricane it.

We stayed at a AIM base down the road from the neighborhood we were working on and the people there were so nice! Our ‘team leader’ was Allen who was the funniest guy ever and made the job go by quicker. We were also staying with W Squad while we were there and I got to meet and hang out with some of those girls and they were so nice. What’s a trip to Florida without going to the beach? We got to have worship on the beach one night and invited everyone we saw to come and sing and dance and hear about the God we worship. It was so

The trip to Florida was so much fun and taught me a lot. It also gave us an inside look at what day to day ministry will look like overseas. I am so beyond excited to fly out and go, but for now we are back in Georgia having our debrief week. During this week we are getting to meet our coaches who are over our whole squad, and let me tell you they are hilarious. We had lunch with them today and it was a blast. But besides meeting our coaches, we also get to rest during this week and prepare for the upcoming 8 months! AHHH it’s so soon! Anyway, I miss y’all and im so thankful for all that you are doing to support and love me through this crazy 9 months. Watch out for my instagram and facebook for updates and other little needs, wants, and prayer requests.

As of right now my biggest prayer request is for my health to increasingly get better and hopefully be healed by travel day on the 14… which is Saturday. I went to the doctor yesterday and we ruled out any major issues that could happen for the most part. I am now taking some medicine to reduce any inflammation in my respiratory system the would be the cause of my lingering issues. I’m feeling better as the days on go on, but I’m really hopping to be at 100% before I go overseas.

Thank you for listening to my ted talk 🙂
